My only Christmas project

I usually make most of my gifts for my friends but this year my heart just want in it, but I did make one gift and I wanted to share.

Over on Croatiancrafter.blogspot.com last year she posted a charger that she had done with Merry Christmas in both languages on it. I was super excited because my best friend is from Croatia and I wanted to do something special for her. It turned out great and I hope she likes it. I know the lettering on the bottom looks crooked but it isn't at all.

Merry Christmas

I wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas.

I will not be around much the next month or so. I seem to have lost my crafting bug, just can't seem to get into the holiday. I am moving in the middle of January so my craft room will be packed up soon. God Bless you all!

December Damask Divas Blog Hop

Welcome to this month's Damask Divas Blog Hop. This Month we are featuring Close to My Heart's Pear and Partridge paper pack.

I love this paper, of course I love all things Christmas.
If you came here from Shannon's blog you are in the right place. If you would like to start at the beginning than go to the Damask Divas Blog
and while your there don't forget to sign up for this month's giveaway.
My project this month is a Nativity card. I really like it because it uses one of my favorite cricut cartridges When It's Cold Outside which is full of great snowflakes.

I cut the Nativity at 41/4 inches. The circles are from Art Philosophy, that green (which is the flip side of the partridge paper) at 4 1/4 inches and the white at 4 1/2 inches.
The saying is from Wild Card and cut at 4 inches. I then cut a 41/2 by 2 and a 4 1/4x1 3/4.
The card base is cut at 7 1/2x11, which is scored at 5 1/2 and folded.
Layer the circles using foam tape and place on front of card. Glue the Nativity snowflake to the center of the circle.
Layer the two rectangles in the same manner and center and glue your title to them.
I hope you enjoyed your stop here. Now hop on over to Sharon Chapman's blog for your next stop.
Merry Christmas

Damask Divas Flirty Blog Hop

Welcome to the November Damask Divas Blog Hop!
This month we are featuring the Flirty Paper Pack.
If you came from Sandra Rosario http://365daysofcricut.blogspot.com/2012/10/114-damask-divas-flirty-blog-hop.html, you are in the right place.. If you have jumped here and just discovered our blog hop, feel free to check the list at Damask Divas blog to find the complete list of blog hop participants.

My first project is an easy project that is great for a treat or small gift. It is the 2 4 6 8 box.
You start out with a 8.5X5.5 sheet of cardstock. Score on long side at 2 4 6 8 inches (this is how it gets it's name and then on the short side at 2 inches. Fold on score lines. Cut up to the long line and snip off the 1/2 inch piece.

Fold and glue the bottoms and side into a box shape.
Fold in on the sides to make bag gussets.
Line up the top and put 2 equal spaced holes.
Lace with ribbon tie bow
and embellishh however you want.

I cut 2 circles one at 1.5 and one at 1.25 and stamped my design from the stamp set that comes with the Flirty WOTG set.

My second project is a card that I made on a 5.5 card base. I cut my base at 5.5 and my pumpkin is cut at 4X4and embossed with the Cricut Pumpkin Patch embossing folder. I then cut it into 1 inch stips and rounded the corners on the two outside pieces I left a small space between each piece and topped it with a pumpkin leaf cut from the Artise cartridge embellished with a green button and a sparkle from the Sparkles Clear Assortment.

The A Season of Fun saying came from the Flirty Complements Dimensional Elements which I coated with the Liquid glass to give it extra shine.
I used a new technique on my pumpkin but unfortunately it doesnt show in the picture. But I added a glisten to it by painting it with a mixture of epsom salts and water mixed one to one. Be careful when you are painting it not to go over a spot you've already painted or you will remove the glisten. Paint it and let it dry completely. The only color I haven't been able to get it to work on is black. Give it a try and see what you think.

I hope you enjoyed your visit here and if you have any questions please feel free to ask.
Time to hop on. Your next stop is with Marilyn  http://www.the-stamping-diva.com/2012/10/flirty-blog-hop.html

Enter here to win a stamp set given by Gloria Schirr.

Happy November

Damask Diva's Moonlight Blog Hop

Welcome to our October blog hop this month we are featuring our CTMH Moonlight Paper. I made the bonus project from the Workshop On The Go. It is a Halloween countdown calendar.
“If you came from Traci Williams blog (http://papercrafting101.blogspot.com/2012/09/damask-divas-moonlight-blog-hop.html), you are in the right place. If you have jumped here and just discovered our blog hop, feel free to check the list at Damask Divas blog (http://www.damaskdivas.com/bloghopmoonlight/) to find the complete list of blog hop participants.”

The directions called for the blocks but since I didn't have them I improvised and used boxes I cut from the Artise Cricut cartridge. I cut them using black cardstock at 2 1/2 inches. Then in colonial white I cut 12, 2 1/2 inch squares. I then stamped them using the Moonlight stamps included in the kit. Using black and Gypsy purple Ink. I trimmed each side with strips of paper cut at 1/2" and 3/4" strips of paper from the paper pack and the thin strip at the bottom of the paper. I inked each piece with the purple ink. Glue them to the boxes, making sure you divide the designs between the two boxes. To number the boxes you can use either the dimensional numbers, stamp them or use stickers like I did. You need to number 1 block 0 1 2 6(9) 7 8 and the other 0 1 2 3 4 5.
If you are interested in any of the products that you have seen during the hop, please go to my website www.debbieduddles.ctmh.com.

I am the last stop on the blog list. Thanks for hopping with us! We hope you enjoyed our Moonlight Projects. Please be sure to head over to www.Damaskdivas.com/BlogHopMoonlight to enter to win a Moonlight Paper Pack and a Smokey Plum Marker Set from this month's sponsor Crissy Worthen.

Dark days

I just wanted to share the reason I haven't been here much lately. 3 weeks ago today I lost my best friend and husband of 35 years in a tragic accident. I have been going through the motions lately and have had no desire to even go into my craft room. I feel like I am in the ocean and a huge wave hits you and then things calm down and you get hit again. I have never felt such sadness. I returned to work and it does help to be with other people and have something else to think about. I know I will come out of this okay but it will be hard and so I ask that you pray for me as I move through this time.

Three peas in a pod

I have been working on a banner for a sweet mom who is having triplets baby shower. I made it in 4 small banners so that she can use the babies name one in the nursery if she wants.

Sorry the pictures are fuzzy but I only had my iPad.

Window dressing

I have been so inspired by Nadia at www.withglitteringeyes.com. I know that she is much more artistic than I am but she encouraged me to step out of the box.
I found this photo over on Pinterest and decided to recreate it with paper and my own ideas. I still might make some changes but so far besides putting the shop name on it I am pretty much finished.

Here is my interpretation of it.

Looking at it I think the table needs something. Thanks for looking.
Okay. I went back and revamped and added my daughter's name.

Stella Pack Cards

I made these using the Stella Workshop to go kit, and the just for you stamp set. I followed the directions on the video Jayma Malme's Playing with Paper blog. Jayma is my up lines up line so I think that makes her my grand upline.

If you are interested in becoming a consultant I would love to be your upline and then Jayma would be your great grand upline.
